"11th Hour"
So I saw a preview for a movie called "11th Hour" (narrated by DiCaprio). It looks really good and seems to have some relevance to this class. From what I saw, it is about how industrial civilization is causing earthly detriment, both socially and environmentally. It looks really cool. It is supposed to air Aug 16 or 17 (I am really not sure). You can go to 11thhouraction.com to learn more.

Thank you for the recommendation. I have a list on my blog of movies and documentaries that I think are relevant to this class and to international development in general.
I think that is funny that of all people DiCaprio was listed as the biggest environmental activist in Hollywood. I thin is great that actors with all the money are saying that it is ok to drive a hybrid and that extravagance is not what we should be striving for. (well sort of, they do have millions they spend on other things)
It the actors with more publicity that are doing more for the environment than politicians. Al Gore made "inconvenient truth" but he spends thousands on electricity bills every month for his mansion. At least Leo is doing it for the message and not as a political gimmick to gain popularity and rub "I told you not to vote for Bush" in everyones face. Most conservatives who voted for Brush, didn't watch the movie Al!
