More than Casualties

So reports (CNN.com) are saying that about 43% of Iraq's population is in poverty. This is an increase from before US invaded.

These reports say that there is so much more the government can do for them. Like give widows more money to keep their family going. However the government isn't looking into these problems, as they are so preoccupied with ending warfare.

This is a good example of how we talked about the power is in the hands of the few.

However I do not think that it is the Iraqi government that solely needs to address this issue. The US should also, as we are the ones who invaded and caused these conditions to worsen with warfare. In my opinion it is now our job to fix it, and not just get the poverty population percentage down to what it was before we invaded, but rather go farther, helping now instead of hurting the innocent people who have suffered because of the governments' decision to fight.
